Sly, vicious and ambitious, Blaise Zabini is not someone to trifle with. Throughout his private school years, he managed to be charming and charismatic enough to avoid serious backlash, but he has screwed more than one person in his quest to be number one in classes or competitions. But, in his later years of high school, he started to step back out of the spotlight more and more, letting himself be obscured into the shadows. In the end, what he wants isn’t a flashy job where everyone knows his name. Save the Minister’s chair for someone who can take the blame. Instead, he wants to be in the background, to control from behind, in the safety of obscurity.

Now, as he enters University, Blaise is putting his charm to the test. He plans on getting into the good graces of anyone with the potential to be great, as well as further his own knowledge and power into his inevitable move to politics. Starting with the children of the already influential and moving into the others, Blaise is going to make friends, somehow or another.

Luna has always been an odd girl. After her mother died in an accident with one of her experiments, she was raised exclusively by her father, who wasn’t always exactly attentive. Because of that, Luna grew up to be independent in an odd way – she has her own ideas, and her own beliefs, and she has the self confidence to stick to her guns about it. And she’s needed to, because there were no end to the bullies who wanted to try to torment Loony Lovegood. Because of her brilliant mind, there was the question of letting her skip a grade, but at first the teachers resisted, afraid she would be too separate from her peers. But it soon became apparent that she was apart from them anyway, and so she did move ahead, and made no more friends there than she had with her own peer group.

Now, Luna is entering Hogwarts University a year early, and she’s excited to have access to the campus, the extensive literature in the library, and especially to all the nooks and crannies where interesting things could be hiding. She doesn’t particularly expect for things to be different here than high school, but she thinks it would be nice if her things didn’t get stolen this year. Mostly, Luna is here to get her degree and begin to search for the creatures she knows to be real, even if everyone else refuses to believe. Anything else is just a bonus. For now, at least.

Theodore has always succeeded at anything he’s found worth his time.  Otherwise, he couldn’t give it a second glance.  He’s worked hard to excel intellectually because as a child he was always sickly and small for his size, which sometimes led to him being bothered by others.  He fought back, however, with sharp words and boisterous, sometimes filthy comments.

While his family’s blood status is on par with that of the Malfoy family, Theodore has long since gotten bored of politics.  Most of his free time he spends indulging Muggle and Wizarding vices.  He loves to party, drink, and experiment with drugs and sex, which has led to a rather interesting compilation of tattoos.

Now that he’s at university, Theodore sees it as a chance to live in both worlds of fun and seriousness.  He plans on devoting his weeks to his craft and his weekends to himself.  So come what may.

Being at Hogwarts is not enough for Ronald Weasley. He’s glad he’s here, don’t get him wrong – it took work to get his grades up and keep them enough, and to earn himself the Quidditch scholarship that made it a little easier on his parents – but it’s not that special. All his brothers had managed to get in, and it looks like Ginny is going to be accepted as well. So he has to do something special. Something new. Something none of them have tried, or at least not succeeded at yet. He’s just not sure what, yet. But something. He’ll find it. For now, he’ll just be on the lookout. Maybe he’ll join one of the fraternities…

Besides, it doesn’t have to be right this second. For now, he is here. Hogwarts University. This is a new level of freedom, and Ron definitely wants to enjoy that. Between his parents and his older brothers, Ron has never had this much say over his own activities. So who wants to go to every single class when he can stay up all night instead, at parties or with someone else? It’s time for Ron to find himself and his wings, and if he crashes and burns at least he’ll have done it on his own watch. And maybe he’ll do such a spectacular job at it that everyone will remember. It’s not how he was thinking of standing out, but it could do in a pinch.

Most of his life, Draco has enjoyed cashing in on his powerful family name. The best tutors and teachers and supplies were always at his fingertips. But recetly he’s begun to branch out. Now he wants to be defined as more than a Malfoy and go even beyond his father’s legacy. To do something that would put him down as the best of the best. When he first started mingling with non-magical people, he was confused by how detailed and bogged down their lives were, but soon learned that they were as good as anyone. Except maybe they stared a bit too much and asked some really ridiculous questions. Other than that, though, they didn’t seem like much to bother with.

His parents were pleased when he got accepted to Hogwarts University, their alma mater, and thrust on him their wishes for his future. Draco put his foot down and told them what he was going to study. It took a bit of work until his father came around to the idea that his son wanted to do something other than politics, but he’s proud of Draco, in his own way. Especially now that he seems very serious about his studies and making good impressions.

Oliver loves Quidditch, just ask anyone. He’ll talk your ear off if you let him. Mostly, though, he’s content with running drills for anyone applying to join the school Quidditch team. Don’t think you’re going to get in easy, either, because as carefree and happy-go-lucky as he can seem, he’s a taskmaster.  He’s deeply proud of his job at Hogwarts, which was offered to him by the Dean after he failed to break into professional Quidditch.  So, he tries to do Dumbledore and the school proud by hoping to bring a trophy home every year.

When he isn’t out running drills, thinking up plays, or reading everything he can about Quidditch, Oliver likes to unwind with fellow faculty members and grad students with a drink at a pub or just good company.  Though he’s a bit uncertain on the subject, Oliver’s also an up and coming fan of football, and tries to catch school games when he can.

Hogwarts University - the most prestigious secondary education facility for witches and wizards

The magical and mundane run together freely in this world where there is no separate Wizarding World.  There are simply those who can cast and those who cannot, and while some may find that a recent to feel superior or inferior, those people are not the norm.  Thus, there have been no isolationist policies to keep the wizards from being as modern as their mundane counterparts, and so the education system reflects that.  While some classes are by necessity only offered to those with magic, there is no need for different schools.  Instead, magical children take special classes within their primary, middle and high schools.  But Universities are mostly mundane, while those who wish to go into purely magical professions become apprentices.

Hogwarts University is one of the elite exceptions to this rule.  As a university aimed at addressing the needs of magical students, it has been the gold standard by which other universities measure for centuries.  Its classes are top of the line, and its faculty are the best in their fields, not to mention the multitudes of extracurricular activities and sports teams.

Now, as the next generation enters, Hogwarts University may find itself at the tipping point of something new…
